Feast on Traditional Bermuda Bread Pudding

Bread pudding is a popular English bread based dessert that is commonly eaten in Bermuda. This dish tends to come out during the Christmas holiday seasons but its a great dish to eat at any time.


  • 2 Eggs
  • 8 Slices of Bread
  • 1 Cup of Flour
  • 1 3/4 Cups of Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Package of raisins (optional)
  • 3/4 lbs butter or margarine
  • 3 Cups of Milk
  • Allspice
  • Cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sift all dry ingredients. Add bread, eggs, butter, raisins and mix well. Slowly add Milk until quite moist. Pour onto a greased baking pan. Bake time 1 hour.
