Fellowship At One Of The Churches of Bermuda

The churches of Bermuda represent many of the world religions. There are well over 100 places of worship on the island. Just a few years ago Sunday was considered a day of rest and everything closed for business. But in more recent years, as the island became more affluent, it was realized that the shops can generate good revenue on this day so slowly the stores began to open. However the stores are still closed in the mornings, so that residents and visitors alike can attend Sunday morning services. The stores open generally from 1pm - 5pm.

It is tradition that local wedding ceremonies take place in a church. The house of worship that is chosen for the ceremony is usually depending on the couples religious background, membership or family. Once you have made your decision on where to be wedded contact the pastor's office as soon as possible and inquire of availability, protocols and if any fees are associated. If you decide not to get married in a church most pastors can still accomodate your desired ceremony location whether it is on the beach, boat, in a park or hotel.
