Cruising to Bermuda is becoming very popular. It is the least expensive way to visit Bermuda. There are four American departure ports that have regular cruises to the island. These include Boston, New York, Cape Liberty and Baltimore. The entire duration of this unique experience is seven days, although four of them are spent out to sea. A typical trip from New York will spend two days at sea, three days in port then another two days out to sea, upon returning to New York. Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises all offer services to the island. The season for cruising is from April to November. At one point the ships docked at three different ports on the island. These ports were St. George’s, Hamilton and Dockyard. Today, there is only one major port of call, King’s Wharf in Dockyard.

It is best to book any excursions that you may want to do while in Bermuda via your travel agent. However, you can always choose later and book from the boat, although this could cost more. When you arrive at King’s Wharf you will note that everyone, who is trying to make the most of their stay in the isles, will rush all the less expensive public transportation options available on the island. These options are buses and ferries. Taxis are readily available but generally cost a lot more. If you’re feeling adventurous you can always rent scooters to travel around the island.
